What We Believe
WE BELIEVE…
The Bible, both the Old and New Testaments, are verbally inspired of God for the purpose of faith and practice (2 Timothy 3:16-17).
WE BELIEVE…
That man was created good and upright; for God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness.” However, man by voluntary transgression fell and thereby incurred not only physical death but also spiritual death, which is separation from God (Genesis 1:26, 27).
WE BELIEVE…
In the Lord’s Supper, consisting of the elements – bread, and the fruit of vine – are the symbols expressing a memorial of His suffering and death (1 Corinthians 11:26). All believers ought to participate in receiving Holy Communion.
WE BELIEVE…
Sanctification is an act of separation from the world, and a dedication unto God (Romans 12:1, 2; Hebrews 13:12). The Bible teaches a life of “holiness without which no man shall see the Lord” (Hebrews 12:14). Sanctification is realized in the believer by recognizing his identification with Christ in His death and resurrection, by allowing the work of the Spirit to operate in the life of the believer (Romans 6:1-11).
WE BELIEVE…
Divine healing is an integral part of the gospel. Deliverance from sickness is provided in the atonement, and is the privilege of all believers (Isaiah 53:4, 5; James 5:14-16).
WE BELIEVE…
That Scripture teaches that every human being will stand before God and give an account to the Lord. Hebrews 9:27 states, “It is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment” (KJV).
WE BELIEVE…
In the one true God, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, expressed in the three persons of the Godhead: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit (Deuteronomy 6:4; 2 Corinthians 13:14).
WE BELIEVE…
The only hope of redemption for man is through the shed blood of Jesus Christ the Son of God. Salvation is received through repentance toward God and faith toward the Lord Jesus Christ (John 3:3; Ephesians 2:8).
WE BELIEVE…
All believers ought to earnestly seek the promise of the Father, the Baptism in the Holy Spirit according to the command given by Jesus Christ (Acts 1:4). With it comes the enduement of power for life and service, the bestowment of the gifts and their uses in the work of the ministry (Luke 24:49; 1 Corinthians 12:1-31)..
WE BELIEVE…
That God’s purpose concerning humanity is to redeem people from the curse of the law as recorded in Scripture (Galatians 3:13). The primary reason and purpose for the establishment of the church is:
(a) To be an agency of God for evangelizing the world (Mark 16:15; Acts 1:8).
(b) To be a corporate body in which man may worship God (1 Corinthians 12:13).
(c) To be a channel of God’s purpose to build a body of saints being perfected in the image of His Son, Jesus Christ (Ephesians 4:11-16).
WE BELIEVE…
In the resurrection of those who have fallen asleep in Christ and their translation together with those who are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord is the imminent and blessed hope of the Christian (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; Titus 2:13).
In the divinity of the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God.
The scriptures declare:
(a) His virgin birth (Matthew 1:23)
(b) His sinless life (Hebrews 7:26)
(c) His miracles (Acts 2:22)
(d) The crucifixion (2 Corinthians 5:21)
(e) His bodily resurrection from the dead (Matthew 28:6)
(f) His exaltation to the right hand of God (Philippians 2:9-11)
In water baptism, by total immersion as commanded in Scripture. All who repent and believe in Jesus as Savior and Lord are to be baptized (Matthew 28:19).
The baptism of believers in the Holy Spirit is evidenced as recorded in Acts 2:4 and Galatians 5:22-23. Manifesting the fruit of the Holy Spirit is a true reflection that a believer is filled with the Spirit.
A divinely called and scripturally ordained ministry has been provided by Jesus Christ for the threefold purpose of leading the Church in: (1) Evangelization of the world (Mark 16:15-20); (2) Worship of God (John 4:23,24); (3) Building a body of saints being perfected in the image of His Son (Ephesians 4:11-16).
The second coming of Christ includes the rapture of the saints, which is our blessed hope, followed by the visible return of Jesus with His saints to reign on the earth for one thousand years (Revelations 1:7; 19:11-14; 20:1-6). The millennial reign of Christ will bring about salvation of national Israel (Zephaniah 3:19, 20) and the establishment of universal peace (Isaiah 11:6-9; Psalm 72:3-8).
That God will create a new heavens and a new earth. The apostle Peter notes, “Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness” (2 Peter 3:13; Revelation 21, 22).
